Wooden sandpits

A sandpit in the garden is more than just a place to play. It is a space where children develop their imagination, learn to cooperate and spend time outdoors. We manufacture safe wooden sandpits with children and their parents' peace of mind in mind.

Why choose our sandboxes?

  • Natural wood: selected, smoothly sanded and safe for little hands.
  • Practical closures: we have models with lids that protect the sand from dirt and animals. When opened, the lid turns into a comfortable bench for children.
  • Protective roofs: roofs provide children with shade and greater comfort when playing on sunny days.
  • Easy assembly: we deliver products with a set of necessary components and clear instructions.
  • Durability beyond the season: forget about brittle plastic. Our structures are stable and resistant to the vagaries of the weather. We protect the wood with eco-friendly impregnants.

Why choose a sandpit from Prosbud?

Choosing a sandpit directly from the manufacturer guarantees the best value for money and ensures that the product has been made with passion and craftsmanship. When designing Prosbud sandpits, we focused on details that are crucial for everyday play. All edges are carefully rounded, and the surfaces are planed and sanded to perfect smoothness, eliminating the risk of cuts or splinters.

We focus on naturalness, which is why the methods we use to protect the wood are safe for children's health and environmentally friendly. A wooden sandpit blends in perfectly with garden vegetation and architecture, providing an aesthetic alternative to non-durable plastic products.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about wooden sandboxes

For your convenience, we have compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions about the selection, maintenance and safety of our sandboxes.

1. Is a wooden sandpit safer than a plastic one?

The choice of wood is not only a matter of aesthetics, but above all of safety and thermal comfort. Unlike plastic, natural wood does not heat up rapidly on hot days, eliminating the risk of accidental burns when playing in direct sunlight. Wooden sandboxes are much more stable and resistant to mechanical damage – they do not crack under the influence of frost or UV rays. By choosing wood, you are investing in an eco-friendly product which, thanks to its precise sanding, is completely safe for your child's delicate skin and blends in naturally with the greenery of your garden.

2. Does wood need to be impregnated and how should the sandpit be protected?

The sandboxes we offer are factory-impregnated, which protects them from moisture, mould and pests. However, wood is a "living" material, so in order to preserve its noble appearance for a decade, it is worth carrying out a simple maintenance procedure once a year, preferably in autumn. Simply clean the surface and apply a layer of a dedicated garden wood impregnating agent. Such systematic refreshing will keep the structure looking like new, regardless of the weather.

3. How much sand is needed for a 120×120 sandpit?

This is one of the most common questions our customers ask. To give your child the freedom to build castles and dig tunnels, the optimal layer of sand should be between 15 and 20 cm. For a 120×120 cm sandpit with standard filling, you will need approximately 0.22–0.29 m³ of sand. In practical terms, this corresponds to approximately 300–400 kg of sand (i.e. approx. 12–16 bags of 25 kg each). Remember to choose certified sand that is soft, clean and safe for allergy sufferers.

4. Does a lockable sandpit really make sense?

Yes – a sandpit with a cover reduces dirt and the risk of leaves, twigs or debris getting into the sand.

5. Is a sandpit with a roof necessary?

If the garden is very sunny, a sandpit with a roof significantly improves the comfort of play. The roof provides shade and helps protect children from direct sunlight.

6. How to prepare a place for a wooden sandpit?

It is best to choose a level, stable surface and a partially shaded area. Level the ground, apply an insulating layer – for example, agrotextile (we add it to our sandboxes for free!) and leave some free space around it.

7. What type of sand is best for a garden sandpit?

We recommend using certified sand (with PZH certification), which is specially washed and purified. Such sand is not only safe for children's skin, but also has the right grain size, which is ideal for making sandcastles and building castles.

8. How to care for the sand in the sandpit? When to replace it?

Regularly remove debris and close the sandpit after play. Replace the sand when it is clearly dirty, clumped together or has lost its "looseness".

9. Are wooden sandboxes safe for children?

Yes, provided that they are properly assembled and inspected. The stability of the structure and the absence of sharp edges are key.

10. How to protect the sandpit for winter?

Clean the sandpit, close/cover it and check its stability. In spring, assess the condition of the sand and top it up or replace it if necessary.

11. Is it difficult to assemble a Prosbud sandpit?

We have made sure that the assembly is simple and intuitive, even for people without technical experience. Each set contains precisely cut elements, a set of screws and clear step-by-step instructions. Basic tools such as a screwdriver or a spanner are sufficient to assemble the sandpit.

12. How do I order a sandpit and will I receive help in choosing a model?

You can order a sandpit quickly and conveniently in our online shop in theWooden Sandpits category. If you are interested in larger quantities, please call us or use the B2B tab to send us an enquiry, and we will prepare a proposal tailored to your needs.
